It’s that time of the year again when NYC hosts its Fashion Week. And though there have been some really amazing designers, the ones that stood out were Prabal Gurung and Rebecca Taylor.
With pastel tints and shades and interesting prints and eye catching cuts, Gurung presents a great show.
Being a Nepalese, his inspiration for these prints were from the Great Himalayas.
He has also introduced his line of footwear featuring strappy stilettos, which were multicoloured and inspired from his favorite artists.
Rebecca has been an all time favorite. For spring ’15 she has used pinks, blues and lilacs.
Much like Gurung, Taylor has used interesting prints. But she has used far more tailoring than the former did. But then again you expect nothing less than sophistication from Rebecca Taylor.
Her inspiration for her choice of her collection’s palette was different from Gurung. She has played on ideas of feminity and romanticism to bring ruffles and tailored trousers on the same stage.
Both designers seem to love the florals though.
I have loved both these different perspectives at the spring ’15 runway.
What do you think of the two?
you think pastels are here to stay?
maybe knock florals off altogether?
Let us know.
